Largo Band of Gold Alumni Association Awards Three Scholarships |

The Largo Band of Gold Alumni Association recently awarded three $1000
Robert R. Cotter Memorial Scholarships as part of the opening of the Band of
Gold Exhibit at the Largo Library. The applicants were so exceptional
this year that the Scholarship Committee decided to give multiple
awards. Robert Cotter, Jr., traveled to Largo to make the
presentation. He remarked that giving the awards was a highlight of the
weekend, and that the recipients were more than worthy of the award which
carries his father's name.

When I heard about the
exhibition of the Band of Gold I checked my calendar and
unfortunately found out that my busy schedule would make it
impossible to come and attend the opening ceremony.

Dear Alumni and Friends of the Band of Gold,
The excitement is growing as the opening of the Band of Gold Exhibit at the Largo Library nears. As the local Alumni Association representative, it has been my pleasure looking over memorabilia, both old and new, which will be part of the Exhibit. To those of you that found a treasured item in a garage or closet, thank you. I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you step into the gallery of the Library, where the Exhibit will be staged.
