Largo Band of Gold Scholarship is Announced |

The Largo Band of Gold Alumni Association is pleased to announce the award
of the first Robert R. Cotter Memorial Scholarship as part of the opening
of a new exhibit featuring Band of Gold memorabilia at the Largo
Library. The date for this opening ceremony will be announced
shortly. This $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a current Largo High
School student who most exemplifies the teachings of Robert Cotter. To
qualify, the applicant must be a current student at Largo High, and must be
a member of the Band of Gold or a child or grandchild of a Band of Gold
graduate. An application accompanies this release, and we encourage those
qualified to apply. Applications must be returned by March 10, 2007.

You have found this site perhaps through a Google
search. In the months since it was created we have progressed to the
top of the Google search results list. Thank you for taking the time to
find it.
It has been some time now since Robert Cotter 'The Boss' left us. The
largobandofgold.com web site is now owned by a company in Venezuela. I
thought it was time for those of us interested to get together and
share memories and memorabilia from our time in the Largo Band of Gold.
This site has grown from an experimental site to guage the response I
received from it. The response has been interesting and encouraging and
has led to the creation of this permenant site.

Today is a great day for The Largo Band of Gold Community web site. We
proudly announce the on-line publication of the multimedia library
available to registered members of the Community. To register, click on
the register link on the main menu of this page.
Most of these recordings were made in the auditorium of the Largo
Senior High School which, surprisingly, had quite good acoustics. None
of the recordings have had any post production work done to them other
than transferring from vinyl to digital format.
