Hotel Information for Band of Gold Exhibit
The Greater Largo Library Foundation has reserved a block of rooms on
behalf of the Band of Gold Alumni Association. These arrangements
were made to accommodate out of town members of the Alumni Association that
will be attending the opening of the Band of Gold Exhibit. The block of
rooms is at the new Hampton Inn, which is near the corner of Missouri
Avenue and East Bay Drive, directly across from the old fairgrounds, and within
easy walking distance of the Library. The rate is $99.00 per night,
which is discounted from the normal rate of $119. To receive this special
rate you must identify yourself as a member of the Largo Band of Gold
Alumni when making reservations, and complete your booking prior to April
19. Here is the specific hotel information:

Dear Alumni and Friends,
From 1969 to 1982, the students of
Largo High School and the people of the City of Largo experienced one
of the most exciting phenomena’s to ever happen in the history of
bands. It was called “The Band of Gold”. Whether it was the
High School Band of Gold, the Community Band of Gold, World Band of
Gold, or any of the other names attached to it, the Band of Gold
positively influenced the lives of thousands of kids, an entire
community, state, nation, and indeed, the world. What an honor it
was for me to be a small part of such an organization.
